The Gospel

So, what is the gospel? The gospel is the good news that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died for our sins and rose again, eternally triumphant over his enemies, so that there is now no condemnation for those who believe, but only everlasting joy. That’s the gospel.

The gospel of Mark in chapter 12:30-31 explains that you should love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, and all your strength. This is one of the most important commandments, as we continue to read, we learn the most important commandment is to love thy neighbor.

This next verse explains that you should care about your neighbor as you care about yourself. The verse ends by telling us that no other commandments are as important as these two.

Wow, how can I be part of this? Jesus lived a life serving others, talking about his father in heaven, and making disciples. We start to understand what it means to be Christ-like as we serve others. Please join us as we bring hope back to our community by serving those in need.

We at Cumberland Church believe you are important to us. Our doors are open to you to provide love, guidance, friendship, and a place of peace.
